The Perth Bach Society is a society of musicians who love to perform Bach’s music, and of audience members who love to hear it live and alive.
As well as stand-alone performances such as tonight’s, the Society has performed cantatas in services throughout 2021, in the appropriate liturgical setting for which they were composed.
Since 2021, they have performed oratorios, concertos, suites and arias as well as their uniquely dramatised take on Bach’s profound Matthauspassion and Vivaldi’s seminal Gloria in concert and in special services.
The final concert each year is Carols and Corelli by Candlelight where the combined choirs and the grand organ are joined by soloists from the society to perform the most beautiful carols from England, Germany and the classics from back here in Australia, interspersed with poignant Christmas poetry and Arcangelo Corelli’s masterpiece,
The Bach Society is run by volunteers, and new members are always welcome. Please get in touch by email, stating whether you wish to be an active (performer, musicologist or management) or audience member.
